Knox Financial Services Supports Fire Departments

We deeply appreciate the dedication and courage of volunteer firefighters who selflessly risk their lives to protect our communities.

Jason’s passion for fire departments was inspired by his grandfather, Leallen Knox, a devoted member of the Wadena-Illyria Fire Department.  Growing up, Jason had a fire station just beyond his backyard in Wadena, sparking childhood dreams of driving those incredible fire trucks and serving as a firefighter.  While those dreams didn’t become reality, our admiration for firefighters and their life-saving work remains unwavering.

Jason and Amber Knox are committed to giving back to the community. Through our fire department support program, clients have the opportunity to nominate their favorite fire department to receive a charitable contribution.

Nominate your fire department via the form below.  If selected, Knox Financial Services will donate $250 to your Fire Department.   An easy way to help your favorite Fire Department.

Financial donations are just one way to make a difference.

Volunteering can often be even more valuable, as many volunteer fire departments have plenty of tasks but never enough hands to complete them all. Offering your skills—whether it’s handyman work, computer expertise, organization, cleaning, setting up tables and chairs, making calls, mailing envelopes, or any other contribution—can be incredibly helpful. Reach out to the organization to see how your abilities can best support their mission.

Amber and I have pitched in by carrying tables and chairs, selling tickets, cleaning buildings, painting, handling carpentry work, securing vendors, providing transportation, preparing meals, moving supplies, and even visiting landfills. We understand that giving back doesn’t always mean writing a check—there are countless ways to make an impact.

Simply getting involved will strengthen the organization you want to support.

Each month we select a fire department to receive our contribution.  A nomination does not guarantee that Knox Financial Services will make any contribution.  Knox Financial Services offers this program at our sole discretion, and may modify or discontinue the program in the future.  The selected organization must be a volunteer fire department that is presently active, provide services in the greater Midwest, and be nominated by an existing client.  An existing client is defined for the purpose of this program as one to whom we provide ongoing financial planning or investment management services (fee-based) and have a current agreement in effect.  Determination of this status is at our sole discretion.  Knox Financial Services reserves the right to accept or deny nominations of the nominated fire department, in our sole discretion.  We may deny our contribution to the proposed fire department where: there is a potential conflict of interest; we have donated to the proposed fire department in the past; or our directors believe the organization does not fit our mission for charitable giving, or at our sole discretion.  If the proposed fire department does not fit our criterion, we will notify our client, and that client may elect another fire department for consideration.  If we have recently donated to the fire department, the client may elect to postpone the contribution to the future.  Nominations are considered in the order received.  Exception may be allowed based on timely considerations such as a time sensitive annual fund drive, end of fiscal year for the fire department or ourselves, other matching contributions that compel timelines, or other factors.  We wish to honor all selected fire departments that meet our criterion, but have committed to an ongoing schedule to preserve our ability to sustain such contributions.  Nominations will be considered by our Directors, and we will notify the submitter of our selections, declinations, if and if selected, the next month available for contributions.
